• Xbloc® seawall at Bar Beach put through the test

  In the week of October 12, 2006, the newly constructed Xbloc® seawall at Bar Beach, Lagos, Nigeria was exposed to extreme wave conditions. According to people on site the wave conditions may have been the highest in 20 years.

• Xbloc® attends Innovation Platform meeting in the Netherlands

  22 may 2006

  The Dutch Innovation Platform was invited by the province of Zuid-Holland for a meeting with innovative companies from this province. The Innovation Platform is presided by the Dutch Prime Minister, J.P. Balkenende. The meeting was held in the Hague, near the parliament building and was attended by J.S. Reedijk, head of the Xbloc® team and the Coastal Department of Delta Marine Consultants.

• New Xbloc® application in Georgia, Asia Minor

  Gouda, the Netherlands - Delta Marine consultants bv (DMC) has granted the contractor Boskalis International BV a licence for the application of the Xbloc armour unit for the rehabilitation of the breakwater of Port of Poti in Georgia, Asia Minor.

• First Xbloc® application in Africa

  Gouda, the Netherlands - Delta Marine Consultants bv (DMC) has granted the Hitech Construction Company Ltd. a licence for the application of the Xbloc® armour unit for the construction of a shore protection at Bar Beach, Lagos, Nigeria.

  Bar Beach will be the first Xbloc® application in Africa.
