Xbloc® seawall at Bar Beach put through the test

In the week of October 12, 2006, the newly constructed Xbloc® seawall at Bar Beach, Lagos, Nigeria was exposed to extreme wave conditions. According to people on site the wave conditions may have been the highest in 20 years.
The Xbloc® seawall was exposed to plunging breakers and performed very well, as expected. During this extreme event the Xbloc® seawall prevented shoreline erosion and flooding of the coastal road.
