Xbloc® Breakwater nominated for Dutch Concrete Award 2007

The Dutch Concrete Award is organized once every two years and rewards the most creative and eye-catching applications of concrete in completed projects. This year the breakwater of Port Oriel is nominated. It is the first Xbloc® breakwater in Europe.
The breakwater is nominated as the innovative shape of the Xbloc® makes it possible to create an armour layer with the minimal use of concrete and a high hydraulic stability.
Also nominated is the Euromax Container terminal located at the Port of Rotterdam. A cost saving quay wall designed to handle up to 12.500 TEU container vessels. The design has been made by DMC.
