Xbloc project Caladh Mor Overall Winner 2008 Irish Concrete Society Awards

The Xbloc Project of Caladh Mor has won the 2008 Irish Concrete Society Award on the 28th of March in Dublin, Ireland.

Read the Jury report:  

"The Overall Winner was in the Infrastructure Category where there were 9 entries. The jury considered that the winner demonstrates how in adverse conditions nature's raw materials can be excavated, reconstrituted with the addition of cement to form concrete elements and reassembled in the same place in a way that absorbs the forces of nature and provides a welcome place of refuge and safety. The Overall Winner also obtained a commendation in the Sustainability Category."
