In 2009 research has been carried out on the influence of concrete density on the stability of Xbloc armour. This research was carried out in the Delta Marine Consultants wave flume in Utrecht
The research has been carried out by Bart van Zwicht as graduation thesis for his Master study at Delft University. Three types of concrete densities have been tested on slopes of 1:2, 1:1.5 and 3:4.
