Dhadna is a town, located on the east coast of the United Arab Emirates, near Fujairah. Along this coast several marinas have been built. During the cyclone Gonu in June 2007, severe damage has occurred to several rock armoured breakwaters. One of the rock armoured breakwaters of a private marina will be rehabilitated using Xbloc® armour.
The rock armoured breakwater will be restored by adding a new filter layer, and a new 5 m3 Xbloc® armour layer. On top of the breakwater a concrete coping will be constructed. The design was model tested at CSIR in South Africa in August 2007.
| August 2007: | Physical model tests completed |
| Hs | 5.5 m |
| Length of shore protection | 500 m |
| Size of Xblocs® | 5 m3 |
