Xbloc calculator
The Xbloc calculator can be used for concept design. For detailed design physical model testing is normally required
The calculator is valid for standard cases with gently sloping foreshores. Special attention is required in the following cases:
- steep foreshores (steeper than 1:30)
- armour slopes of 1:1.5 and less steep
- Large water depths > 2.5Hs
- concrete densities higher then 2500 kg/m3 and lower than 2350 kg/m3
- depth limited conditions (frequent occurrence of near design waves)
- core with low permeability (increased loads on armour layer)
- low crested breakwaters (Rc/Hm0 < 1)
- Units placed on breakwater head or curved section
For advice on application in specific cases, please download our Xbloc design guidelines or contact us at xbloc@xbloc.com
