Xbloc - Effective ware protection for breakwaters and shores

Xbloc design calculator

The java apllication below can be used to make a preliminary estimate of the required Xbloc size and underlayer dimensions

The calculator is valid for standard cases with gently sloping foreshores. Special attention is required in the following cases:

  • steep foreshores (steeper than 1:25)
  • armour slopes of 1:2 and less steep
  • concrete densities higher then 2500 kg/m3 and lower than 2350 kg/m3
  • depth limited conditions (frequent occurrence of near design waves)
  • core with low permeability (increased loads on armour layer)
  • low crested breakwaters (Rc/Hm0 < 1)

For advice on application in specific cases, please contact us at xbloc@xbloc.com

This calculation is applicable to design Xbloc® units between 0.75m3 and 20m3

Input

Design wave height Hs [m]
Concrete density rconcrete [kg/m3]
Water density rwater [kg/m3]
Position on breakwater
