In Rize, Turkey, a new airport is completed and opened in May 2022.
Rize-Artvin Airport is an airport that has recently opened on reclaimed land from the sea off the coast of Rize Province, northeastern Turkey.
It was constructed on a reclamation obtained through filling a part of the Black sea shore with rocks brought from nearby quarries and dredged material. It will be the second airport of this kind in Turkey.
The Xblocs that are used as protection of this reclamation are 14m3 (34ton) and 18m3 (43ton).
